Hotel rates keep moving after a booking is confirmed. A refundable room can later be available for less — from the original supplier or another one. Voraal monitors refundable bookings and flags when the same room can be bought for less.
01 · The problem
The problem
Capturing a lower rate means cancelling the original, rebooking the same room and keeping the difference. Almost nobody does it, because re-checking every live booking against every supplier until check-in is too much manual work.
So the gap between the rate paid and the rate available is quietly lost — across many bookings, every month.
02 · Why it's hard to fix
Why it's hard to fix
Matching
A lower rate only counts if hotel, room type, dates, occupancy and booking conditions all match.
Timing
A drop can appear any time between confirmation and check-in, on any connected supplier.
Control
The business decides when a saving is worth acting on, and who is allowed to act.
03 · What we built
What we built
Monitoring starts when a refundable booking is confirmed. The booking is checked continuously across every connected hotel supplier, and an alert is raised only when the identical room is available for less. Rebooking follows the business's own rules — approved by staff, or automated within set permissions — and Folio6 records the margin recovered.
- Strict matching — a cheaper but different room is never flagged
- Manual approval or rule-based automation
- Recovered margin visible per booking in Folio6
04 · How it works
How it works
- 1
Book a refundable rate
Through whichever supplier is best at the time of booking.
- 2
Monitor the booking
Continuously, across every connected hotel supplier — not only the original one.
- 3
Catch a matching lower rate
Same hotel, room type, dates, occupancy and terms, at a lower price — an alert is raised.
- 4
Rebook at the lower rate
The original booking is replaced, after approval or automatically by rule.
05 · What changes for the team
What changes for the team
| Before | With Voraal |
|---|---|
| Rates checked once, at booking | Refundable bookings monitored until check-in |
| Staff re-check prices by hand, if at all | Monitoring runs on its own and surfaces real opportunities only |
| Only the original supplier compared | Every connected supplier compared |
| Risk of swapping in a “similar” room | Only exact matches count |
06 · What it does not do
What it does not do
- Refundable bookings only — non-refundable bookings can't be cancelled without penalty.
- It compares the hotel suppliers the business is connected to, not the whole market.
- Savings aren't guaranteed; whether a drop appears depends on how each hotel's prices move.
