Most travel businesses learn their real margin weeks after travel, when supplier invoices arrive and are reconciled. Folio6 records revenue, supplier cost and margin as each booking lands — so leaks are found while something can still be done about them.
01 · The problem
The problem
Supplier invoices arrive late, in different currencies and formats. By the time they are reconciled, the period is closed and a loss-making route, agent or supplier has already cost money.
- Margin known only after period close
- Currency movements hiding real performance
- Markups that don't cover supplier cost
- Refunds and reissues eroding margin unnoticed
02 · Why it's hard to fix
Why it's hard to fix
Cost is spread across systems
GDS, NDC, hotel and direct suppliers each report cost differently.
Currency moves
Without the booking-time rate, FX swings look like margin changes.
Bookings keep changing
Refunds and reissues alter the economics of a booking after it is made.
03 · What we built
What we built
Folio6 captures revenue and supplier cost per booking at booking time, locks the exchange rate at that moment, and updates the figures as bookings change. Margin is broken down by route, supplier, agent and channel, with leak detection highlighting where it falls below target.
- Cost captured at booking time, per supplier
- FX locked at the booking-time rate
- Margin by route, supplier, agent and channel

06 · What it does not do
What it does not do
- Figures are only as complete as the booking sources connected to Folio6.
- It shows where margin is lost; pricing decisions remain with the business.
- It complements, and does not replace, statutory accounting.
